Written by UBSB

Utamacon participated in the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) Congress 2025, held from 22 to 26 August 2025 at the Raffles Hotel in Jakarta. The congress brought together professionals from across the region to share knowledge and learn about the latest developments in quantity surveying and the construction industry.

Representing Utamacon was Sr. John Wong, together with Nadia Amer Hamzah, who was selected to represent the PUJA Young Quantity Surveyors (YQS). Their participation shows Utamacon’s support for professional growth and its commitment to being active at international events.

With the theme “Harnessing AI and Digital Technology for Smart Construction Towards Net Zero, Decarbonizing and Innovative Building Materials,” the congress focused on three important areas for the future of the industry: digitalization, sustainability, and material innovation.

Over the five-day program, participants joined keynote talks, technical sessions, workshops, forums, and networking events. These activities gave useful insights on how AI and digital technology can improve construction, how to achieve sustainable practices, and how new building materials can support the move towards net zero. The program also offered the chance to meet professionals from other countries and enjoy Jakarta’s culture.

The congress concluded with a clear message to the industry: to embrace innovation, strengthen collaboration, and apply digital and sustainable practices in daily construction work. For Utamacon, the event was a valuable experience to keep up with industry changes, support its professionals, and play a part in the global effort towards net zero and sustainable construction.
