Scope of Services

UBSB currently offers the full range of quantity surveying and cost management services commonly offered by quantity surveyors in both building and civil engineering projects implemented on traditional contract methods. In addition, we are able to undertake various non-traditional quantity surveying services over and above the normal quantity surveyors’ duties ranging from the preparation of economic studies to project co-ordination services if required on projects implemented on both traditional and nontraditional contract / procurement methods.

Environmentally Sustainable Construction

Key players in the construction industry worldwide have realised the impact of buildings to human conditions, the natural environment and the economy. The international community has responded to the challenge through legislation, policy and market transformation including the formal creation of environmental standards and green building rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM, GBI, Green Mark etc. The building industry worldwide is now experiencing a ‘Green Building Revolution’.

Ministry of Development, Brunei Darussalam has also developed a Green Roadmap to develop its own green standards into the national building standards.

As part of UBSB’s effort to continuously keep its services updated in line with the local and worldwide construction industry standards, UBSB provides consultancy services for Green and Environmentally Sustainable Construction. The services range from concept stage to preparation of documentation for certification from bodies like BCA Green Mark, LEED etc.

Design & Technology Building Case Study

UBSB was the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor for the proposed development of Phase 3 Anggerek Desa Technology Park for the Brunei Economic Development Board. The project was awarded with Gold Rating by Building Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore’s Green Mark Certification.

UBSB together with its business support provided environmental sustainable design consultancy services including provision of green mark specialist cost advises. UBSB services with regards to Green Mark certification include the following

Digitalisation

UBSB operates by employing up-to-date and proven tools, equipment and systems. UBSB adopts proven quantity surveying and project management techniques and computer programs to support its day to day operations.

UBSB (under DLS) was involved in the first fully electronic online tendering of the Construction Industry in Brunei Darussalam.
